MotionConvert is a web application for engineers, students, and motion experts to make calculations and use tools for designing motion applications.

What We Do

MotionConvert provides a suite of specialized tools for motion engineering:

• Drivetrain Builder — Configure motor, gear stages, and output for a complete drive system. Experiment with different ratios and see real-time results.
• Unit Converter — Convert between 100+ units across 13 categories relevant to motion applications: speed, torque, power, force, distance, and more.
• Gear Finder — Find optimal gear or pulley combinations to achieve a target ratio with available tooth counts.
• Belt Length Calculator — Calculate belt length for three-pulley configurations.
• Statusword Calculator — Decode CiA 402 statusword and controlword values used in servo drive communication.

Technology

Built with Django and Python on the backend, with a responsive HTML/CSS/JavaScript frontend. All calculations run server-side using Python's Decimal library for precision. No client-side calculation — one codebase, one source of truth.
